| In addition to the academic activity which will take place the delegates will also be able to participate in a host of social events. Some of the activities planned include a Cultural Pageant depicting the various styles of Sri Lankan Dance, Drumming and Folk Songs, performed by a troupe of artistes trained by maestro??????? Sri Lanka boasts a rich endemic cultural heritage strengthened through centuries of association with our neighbours. Because of the country’s propitious position along the silk route, Sri Lankas art forms while retaining their distinctive originality, are refined by the influence of our visitors.
Sri Lanka, also called Serendib by the travelers of yore, is blessed with a diversity of geographical terrain and climate. From the palm trees and golden beaches to the verdant greenness of the hill country, accessible within a few hours of driving. Nuwara Eliya, the Little England of the Colonials still remains a favourite holiday destination and is one of the treats in store. |
